Our thriving Next Gen Ministries is a wholistic program for preschool through high school youth. Next Gen Ministries help children & youth develop a lifelong relationship with Christ.
Acworth UMC uses Grow Curriculum which gears lessons on the same topics leveled to work with preschool & children and a complimentary lesson for youth group. Every lesson, song, scripture memory verse, game, craft, mission project, prayer experience, retreat, and fun activity strives to bring God’s WORD to life. Our prayer is that each activity opens up conversation between parents and kids at home. By partnering together, we can strengthen the faith of the child and the family to build a firm foundation of belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. |
What to Expect on SundaysChildcare is available during worship services for infants through kindergarteners. The Next Gen check-in desk is located in the classroom building by room C202. Nursery workers and Next Gen teachers have been trained for safety and have a background check.

River of Life
Youth Summer Mission Week June 21-25, 2023 River of Life gives participants the opportunity to experience Christian love in action through unselfishly serving others who are in need. The bonds of friendship, service and love formed during this time will be a source of growth, strength and warm memories that will last long after the last nail is nailed, and the last paintbrush is cleaned. What better way is there to spend a small part of your summer? River of Life is designed to offer participants an opportunity for spiritual growth and Christian fellowship while serving the needs of the elderly, handicapped, and economically disadvantaged citizens of Paulding County. |

Vacation Bible School (ages 3 years through 5th grade)
July 17-20 from 9 am—12:30 pm Growing spiritually doesn’t have to be an unsolved mystery! Take a four-day journey with kid detectives as they dig into a few of Jesus’ parables to solve the mysteries of how to grow their faith, how to care for, serve, and love others. They’ll discover that the answers have been there all along: spend time with God, spend time with others, use your gifts, and share your story. We're excited to spend the week with and minister our friends, leaving pre-k 3 to those entering 5th grade in '23-'24. We will meet together from 9AM to 12PM on Monday, July the 17th through Thursday, July the 20th. Bring a water bottle. Dress for play. Sunscreen and bug spray are a good idea, as there will be outdoor play time each day. Snack will be provided, daily. |
What We're Learning in May
PRESCHOOL & ELEMENTARY
HEROIC: A 4-WEEK SERIES FROM THE NEW TESTAMENT ON THE EARLY CHURCH SERIES OVERVIEW: Every kid wishes they had superpowers, but with Jesus, we don’t need x-ray vision or invisibility to be heroes! In this four-week series, kids will hear stories about the heroes of the Early Church — the apostles and disciples who used their unique abilities to spread the good news of Jesus. Through their stories, we’ll see that anyone can do great things for God because God gives everyone a mission, the Holy Spirit gives us power, and we’re heroic when we work as a team! YOUTH (6TH & UP)
REASONABLE DOUBT: A 4-WEEK STUDY FROM THE GOSPELS ON DOUBT & QUESTIONS SERIES OVERVIEW: Have you ever heard someone say something that seemed unreasonable? Maybe they told a story or made a statement that was hard for you to believe. It’s not always easy to ask questions or express doubt when other people seem so certain, and that’s especially true when it comes to faith. If you ask hard questions about God or are honest about the things you’re not sure about, what will people think? Will they judge you? Will they laugh at you? But in this four-week series from the Gospels, we’ll see it really is possible to have questions and doubts while still having faith. Through Scripture, we’ll discover that when we have doubts and questions, we don’t need to ignore them or sweep them under the rug. Instead, we can look to Jesus, look to the Holy Spirit, look to God’s words, and look for God in unexpected places. |
