Next Gen Ministries - Kids & Youth

Picture
Our thriving Next Gen Ministries is a wholistic program for preschool through high school youth. Next Gen Ministries help children & youth develop a lifelong relationship with Christ.

Acworth UMC uses Grow Curriculum which gears lessons on the same topics leveled to work with preschool & children and a complimentary lesson for youth group.

Every lesson, song, scripture memory verse, game, craft, mission project, prayer experience, retreat, and fun activity strives to bring God’s WORD to life. Our prayer is that each activity opens up conversation between parents and kids at home. By partnering together, we can strengthen the faith of the child and the family to build a firm foundation of belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Next Gen Small Groups
3rd Grade through College/Young Adult

Life is crazy for families. Sports, clubs, homework...it’s hard to find time for faith & friends. We’d like to facilitate children and young adults in growing their faith and provide a space for meaningful connections that support them spiritually and emotionally. Let’s make time together!

Sunday, January 29, join us for pizza after the 11 am service. This introductory meeting is for participants & their grown ups to meet leaders and decide logistics of when & where each group will meet.

What We're Learning in January

PRESCHOOL & ELEMENTARY
MEASURE UP: A 5-WEEK SERIES FROM THE GOSPELS ON JESUS' EARLY LIFE & MINISTRY

SERIES OVERVIEW: “When I’m older!” “When I’m taller!” Every kid is excited to grow up — even if it’s just to finally ride that big kid roller coaster they’ve had their eye on. This five-week series is about another kid who grew up — Jesus! Through stories from Jesus’ early life and ministry, kids will learn five important truths to help them continue growing: God guides us to safety, we can love God with our actions, we can follow Jesus, God makes us ready at the right time, and God's words help us make wise choices.

Youth in January: Not Yet - A 4-Week Study from the Old & New Testaments on Identity
YOUTH (6TH & UP)
NOT YET: A 4-WEEK STUDY FROM THE OLD & NEW TESTAMENTS ON IDENTITY

SERIES OVERVIEW: Does life ever feel like a never-ending waiting game? Like you’re always waiting to get a little older, to gain a little more freedom, or to find a little more clarity about your future? When you think about the person you’re becoming and what your future holds, do you ever just want to skip ahead in your story to see how it all turns out, who you’ll become, what you’ll do, or what kind of difference you’ll make? In this four-week series, we’ll talk about all the questions, fear, frustration, and excitement that thinking about our futures can bring. As we explore passages from Ecclesiastes, Revelation, and more, we’ll discover four truths about what God has in store for us: we’re all a work in progress, your purpose is to be like Jesus, God’s plans for you are good, and your next step is to get closer to God.

See how we're growing this year!
