Rev. Angie Crummie Associate PastorRev. Angie was born in Atlanta, Ga. She is an Ordained Elder in the North Georgia Conference. She received a BS in Religious Studies from Liberty University and an MDIV from Candler School of Theology.
She has previously served St. Andrew UMC in Marietta as Assoc. Pastor and Trinity UMC, Durand as Pastor in Charge. She retired from full-time ministry in June 2019 and now resides with her husband in Marietta. Rev. Angie is married to Eugene and they have four children, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She and Gene enjoy traveling and spending time with the grandchildren. Angie came to Acworth UMC in September of 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic. Although a challenging time, she also welcomes the new opportunities for service at Acworth. |
Danielle was raised in the Methodist church just down the road at FUMC of Marietta. She’s spent previous years at Mt. Zion UMC working with youth, leading youth and children’s creative worship, and leading the modern worship team. Danielle has a passion for walking alongside young hearts to encourage them to fully and boldly become who God created them to be. She studied vocal music for 19 years and is an AACC certified life coach in several areas.
Danielle is married to her husband, John. They have 2 daughters, Ashlin and Madalyn. And a giant boxer/dane, named Charlie. They LOVE the outdoors, great music, and tackling a challenging new project together. They love the first responder and military community and have hopes of opening a place or rest and renewal for them and their families some day soon. |
Mr. David Starnes currently serves as the Director of Orchestras at Kennesaw Mountain High School where he joined the faculty in August of 2020. Prior to his arrival at Kennesaw Mountain High School, he served as Assistant Professor in The School of Music at Western Carolina University from 2011-2020. Previous to his university teaching, he served as the founding Director of Bands at Kennesaw Mountain High School from 2000-2011 where his program received national and international accolades. As a 32-year veteran music educator, Mr. Starnes taught in the Dekalb and Cobb County School Districts serving Dunwoody High School, McCleskey Middle School, Hightower Trail Middle School, Pope High School, and Kennesaw Mountain High School.
Mr. Starnes is sought out nationally and internationally as a music clinician, adjudicator, guest conductor, and creative designer. He serves as an Education Consultant at Music for All which provides national performance events, teacher education, and program advocacy for scholastic bands, orchestras, and choirs. Mr. Starnes served as the founding Board Chairman for United Sound, a nationally recognized music education program which offers peer mentoring through music to special needs students. In 2019, he was inducted into the Bands of America Hall of Fame. As a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mr. Starnes graduated from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1988. He was raised in the United Methodist Church and attended Trinity-Woodmore and Brainerd United Methodist churches in Chattanooga. Since moving to Atlanta in 1989, he attended the Roswell United Methodist Church and the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. His wife, Rhea Jeanne Starnes, is a practicing architect and employed by CDH Partners in Vinings. His daughter, Hannah, resides in Royal Oak, Michigan where she is employed as an interior designer at Integrated Design Solutions. Mr. Starnes and his wife have been proud residents of Acworth since 2003. |
Ivy is a graduate of Harrison High School and studied piano at Florida State University. She is an accomplished musician and teacher as well as a mother of three. She works as a freelance accompanist and enriches the musical life of every aspect of Acworth UMC. Ivy, her husband Aaron and their three sweet little people, Sebastian, Eva and Juniper reside in the Atlanta area.

Jen does the AMAZING job of hooking up all the wires, monitors, instruments and computers which provide audio and visual worship experiences. She's an accomplished flautist, vocalist and musician. She leads worship at the 9:30a contemporary worship services and keeps all the lights on!

Prior to coming to Acworth UMC, Christine taught 4 year old preschool, kindergarten, first, and second grade. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Early Childhood Education and completed her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education at Piedmont University.
She and her husband, Brian have been blessed with two daughters, Ansley and Abigail. Christine leads the preeminent preschool in the area, having been awarded "Best Preschool" by Around Acworth magazine for the past 18 years. |

Ginny came to Georgia after working as an accountant in Florida. She takes great pride in serving the Acworth UMC congregation by managing giving and financial matters for the church.
Ginny is an avid quilter and lives with her mother in Acworth, GA. |
Lacey Anderson is our admin and communications coordinator. She and her husband Jon recently moved to the area with their daughters Liliana and Camille. Lacey previously served in communications roles at churches in Anderson, SC and Tuscaloosa, AL and has 18 years of experience in communications for not-for-profits.
