The Acworth UMW unit meets in small groups called Circles.
Each Circle devotes its time to projects and study topics agreed upon by their membership. Our Circles are very active and contribute in countless ways to the missions and ministries of AUMC.
Consider this to be an introduction to our Circles and please visit any and all that appeal to you. We hope and pray that you will find a Circle to meet your needs, and we look forward to having you as a part of the United Methodist Women of AUMC. We will be glad to start new circles as needed. |
Joy Winn Circle
Meets: First Monday of Each Month (No meetings in June, July or August)
Time: 1 PM in Family Life Center
2010 Chair: Miriam Iossi 770-975-0945
The Ruth Winn Circle became the Joy Winn Circle in 2002. It is so named because we all have the 'Joy, Joy, Joy, Down in Our Hearts'. Our goal is to share that JOY with ALL others and to be WITNESSES for HIM through our Prayers, our Sharing and Singing together and Presenting a Spiritual Enrichment program at each meeting. Light snacks are also a part of our meetings, as we fellowship together.
These ladies love to make hats for cancer patients, make shawls and lap blankets for shut-ins, as well as participate in several mission projects throughout the year.
We encourage EVERYONE, both young and old, to come together and Have Your Spirits Lifted! (Bring the little ones and we'll lend you a hand in caring for them).
Circle of Prayer (CPR).
Meets: Each Tuesday from 7-8 pm in the chapel. Alice Aiken is the leader for this circle. Our mission is to lift your needs and praises to the Lord. Please bring a pen and notebook in which to write prayer requests. |
Carrie Ruff Faith Circle
Meets: 1st Thursday of each month
7:00 pm in various homes
Chairperson: Clydie Williamson 770-974-8961
The Carrie Ruff and Faith Circles are currently meeting together to strengthen their membership. Mrs. Carrie Ruff was a member of AUMC for approximately 50 years. The Faith Circle was so named because members stepped out in faith to create this circle.
Each meeting has time for fellowship, Bible study and planning for the Circle’s ministries.
Circle of Friends
Meets: Every Wednesday
6:30 pm, Room E106, Chairperson: Renate Davis 770-974-3312
This Circle is all about fellowship, fun and growing together in Christ! Ladies of all ages participate in open discussions about the current study book. Meetings generally start with a snack and announcements. We then discuss the current book, and end with a time of prayer. Childcare is provided. The Circle of Friends does not meet during the summer months. If you are looking for a supportive group of friends, this is it!
