Severe Weather Policy
On weekdays, your clue to whether or not the church is open during severe weather is the Cobb County Schools. If Cobb Schools are closed all day due to weather, the church is closed as well, including the offices, and evening events. If Cobb Schools close early, the church closes at the same time for the rest of the day. If Cobb Schools open late, the church opens at the same time. In the event bad weather comes after school lets out, one must use their own judgment, but the prudent thing to do is stay home. Regarding funerals, consult the funeral home as to whether or not a funeral at the church has been postponed.
There are three things to take note of: First: Even during the hours the church is open, we cannot guarantee you that all of our programs or food services will be offered, because our staff and volunteers live in multiple locales and road conditions can vary greatly. Second: Often neighboring counties will close their schools when Cobb does not. Keep your local road conditions in mind, as we do not want you to take an unnecessary risk driving or walking when conditions are slippery. Third: Even though the roads to the church may be clear, we cannot guarantee our parking lot will be, and our steps and passageways may be slippery. Exercise caution.
Regarding whether or now we have cancelled Sunday services or other weekend events and programs, please consult this web site. We try to have it posted on the television stations, but we have varying degrees of success with that.
Thank you, and please put your personal safety above all else.
