Our Confirmation program begins in August and goes until the end of March. The confirmation program is an intensive program which prepares our 6th graders (and others, as needed) to claim their faith and follow Jesus. We teach from a United Methodist confirmation program.
Typically, we will worship on Sundays from 9:30-10:30 and have class from 10:45-12:00. Based on our area of study and worship special occasions, we swap these when needed. The confirmation class sits together as a group during worship and classes meet upstairs in the Education Building in Room E204. In order to complete the program, we also have lessons on the 1st and 3rd Sunday afternoons from 4:30pm-7:00pm. We gather from 4:30-5:00pm and enjoy some down time with our Youth. Together, we worship from 5:00pm-5:30pm before breaking off to E204 for our evening Confirmation lesson.
Field Trips and other Activities:
An important part of our program is going out into our local community to experience lessons and opportunities to show our faith. Once a month we will be doing an additional activity as part of our confirmation experience. These include Beth Hallel, Taste of Acworth, Passion City and Murphy Harpst.
Having Adult and Youth role models surrounding the confirmands as they claim their faith is vital to their journeys. You can help in a variety of ways; pray for the confirmands; be present by attending a trip, teaching a lesson or being a helper on Sunday morning or afternoon; provide gifts of encouragement; serve by helping with the planning and preparations; and witness by your christian example. Mentors, teachers, music leaders, retreat planners, games, artistic, photographer, bus driver, snack provider, etc. If you are being led to help these awesome kids, please contact the Leadership Team. We’ll get you plugged in!
