MISSION MINISTRY
Let’s Get Ready for the Summer Lunch Program
Once again AUMC will be a host site for the MUST Ministry Summer Lunch Program. As a host, other churches and community partners with MUST Ministries will drop off sack lunches here at AUMC. Drivers will then pick up these sack lunches and deliver them to children in our area who might not otherwise have a lunch during the summer. This ministry will run weekdays from May 28 until school begins in August (except for July 4). There are many ways you (or a group you are in) can assist. People can sign up to make sandwiches, assemble the sack lunches, decorate the sacks, purchase supplies, or deliver the lunches. We will begin collecting the items needed this month. Currently, we are collecting children’s books which will be given away on Fridays. Watch for more info. To know more contact Susan Croft 404-375-2863 or Ben Green 404-775-2007.

Glisson Summer Camp Registration Underway
Since 1925, the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church has invited children and youth to experience summer camp at Glisson Camp & Retreat Center. While Glisson's 367 acres surrounding Cane Creek Falls are a natural haven of creation, it's not our waterfall, pool, or high ropes course that cause families to send 2,500+ campers to Glisson each summer. The reason we hear time and time again? The Christian community experienced at camp. Small group Christian camping contributes uniquely to the development of the whole child: helping campers grow spiritually, experience daily physical activity, develop social skills, increase self-confidence, and develop leadership all within a supportive group of peers and counselors. Make sure the children and youth in your life know about this powerful opportunity for growth this summer. Learn more and register today at glisson.org.

The African Children’s Choir will be singing and
worshiping with us during the 11:00 service. Dan
Martin is looking for families to host the children and
chaperones on August 24. Each host family is asked
to keep 2 children and a chaperone, If you are willing
to host a group please contact Dan.
Mark your calendars and invite all of your friends and
family. You will be blessed by this group!
Land of the Lost and Found
The kids will be presenting their Spring Musical on Sunday May 19 at 9:30, 11:00 and 5:00. The musical brings
to life the parables in Luke 15 about the lost sheep, the lost coin and the prodigal son. This
musical is about how God loves and treasures each of us and that we are each special in Gods
eyes. Each worship service will be special as different cast bring their unique style to each
service. We hope you'll come to one or more of the services and hear the message the
kids want to share with you.
After the 5:00 performance, there will be a fun time of fellowship. The kids invite each
of you to share a meal with them. There will be a cook out with hamburgers, hotdogs and all
the fixins’. There is no charge for the meal so come and invite all your family and friends to join you . |
