MUST Summer Lunch Program a Huge Success
By the numbers, the MUST Summer Lunch program provided about 6,100 children with a lunch every summer weekday. Acworth UMC served as the host site for the North Cobb area and sent 15,889 lunches out to children in Cobb, Paulding, Bartow, and Cherokee counties. A huge thank you to Beth Clark, Karen LeBleu, Bob Ponto, Nancy O’Kelly, Madison Price, Jean Ware, Don Stotts, Beth Gwin, Renee Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Sandy Augsburger, Susan Kemp, Pam Fowler, Roger Nystedt, Jean Hall and many others from the surrounding community who showed up to check, pack, and deliver lunches. A big praise also goes to the countless others who donated food items or money to support this effort. Well done Acworth UMC!

We are very fortunate at AUMC to have a true artist at the piano every Sunday! Ivy Pirl is a wonderful musician and extraordinary pianist. She has a special gift to be able to convey to her audience the beauty and emotion of the music she performs so totally flawlessly.

The Music Ministry was excited to present Ivy Pirl in concert on Wednesday, August 27. She played a variety of music from standard piano literature to hymn arrangements in several styles. We have all enjoyed and been lifted by her playing during the services. Now we have the opportunity to hear her alone.

Thanks to the Men's Bible Class for the wonderful dinner they provided.
We look forward to many more musical evenings .

The Chancel Choir is up and running and looking forward to beginning Christmas preparations soon. If you enjoy singing come join us Wednesday at 7:15 pm.

The Hand Bell choirs are starting now and would love to have you come and ring whether you have any experience or not. There is a hand bell group for you.

The children's choirs have begun and are having a fabulous time on Wednesdays. K, 1st, and 2nd grades meet at 6:00 pm. 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades meet at 6:30 pm in room S108. All kids who enjoy having fun, singing, and laughing a lot should come!!!
