If you participate in adult Sunday School at Acworth UMC, join this list to receive announcements and information regarding adult Sunday school classes.

The New Covenant:
This class consists of adults yearning to grow in Christ’s love.
We come to class prepared to discuss issues relevant to Christian growth.
The teacher, who has committed to leading the class on a regular basis,
leads the discussion and supplements with additional reference materials.
We organize activities outside the classroom to promote outreach and
facilitate unity. The class meets at 9:30am in room E206/208.

The Bob McGoldrick Class:
This class consists of mostly couples in the age range of 50’s – 60’s. They select their own material and have rotating leaders and utilize the discussion format. Socials are held throughout the year and the class supports MUST ministry, DFACS children, and various church functions. They also participate in the Meals on Wheels volunteer program. They meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Family Life Center.

Seekers Class :
This class consists of couples, ages 30 – 50. Class members rotate the teaching schedule each month. The curriculum used is Masterwork. Each week an offering is collected. A portion of the offering goes to the church and a portion is kept to have funds available for the ministries of the church and class activities such as honorariums and memorials to the church, MUST ministries, DFACS children, needy families, and staff Christmas gifts.This class meets at 9:30 a.m. in E202.


Jo Carol Price Class :
This class is for women of all ages. They choose their own curriculum and have two class members who rotate teaching duties. This class has a discussion style format and meets at 9: 30 a.m. in the Family Life Center.

New Life Class:
Adult couples and singles age 35 and up make up this class. The structure is study and discussion of the Adult Bible Study series by International Lesson Studies. This is a fun, versatile group of adults who meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Family Life Center. This class has set rotating leade

Psalm Pilots:  
This class if for young couples in their 20’s and 30’s. They utilize video studies to encourage discussion and personal spiritual growth. They have a regular social event called “First Fridays” and get together for fun and fellowship during this time. This class meets at 9:45 a.m. in E211.


Encouragers :
This class provides adults, couples and singles of various ages the opportunity to explore their faith in a loving and “encouraging” environment. Often the class votes on an appropriate book or course of study. Class members are invited to volunteer to lead discussions. We reach inside our hearts to prepare ourselves to face the challenges of the world and depend upon each other for support, friendship, prayers, and of course encouragement. This class meets at 9:30 a.m. in S108.

Believers :
This is an eclectic group of adults at all ages and stages of life coming together with their varying backgrounds and spiritual experiences.  Because each member has a unique perspective, discussions are energetic and exciting! The class typically stays involved in Bible studies of diverse topics and usually involving DVD’s.  Our friendships have been made stronger because we have monthly socials to fellowship together and we try to really get to know one another.  This class is also focused on mission work and seeks ways to get involved in our community, nation, and around the world.  If you are looking for Bible study with ever-changing approaches, this is the place for you! If you are looking for kind and tender Christian  brothers and sisters to claim as friends, we have what you need.  If you want to find God, to deepen your roots and expand your faith, come study with us!

E.A.G.L.E.s
(Experiencing All God's Love Everyday):

This class is for couples and singles from ages 25-40. This class offers an opportunity to grow in your Christian walk through Bible study and fellowship with other believers. The class selects its own curriculum and several class members share teaching responsibilities. The class participates in church sponsored activities and provides social opportunities such as Parent’s Night Out and ladies birthday dinners. This class meets in the Family Life Center.

Charlotte McClure Class :
This class of retired senior adult couples and singles meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Family Life Center. Several class members teach on a rotating basis from the Adult Bible Study series by International Lesson Studies. This class has several social activities throughout the year and is involved in the OWLS (Older, Wiser, Loving Seniors) Program and the Celebration Singers.

Men's Bible Class :
This class is for men of all ages. It features a study of various books from the Bible. The teacher leads the discussion each Sunday and supplements his plans with reference materials. A vital part of the class structure is the prayer time prior to the lesson when members share prayer concerns. This men’s group is informal and some time is spent each Sunday discussing outside issues prior to prayer time. This class meets at 9:30 a.m. in the Family Life Center.
